Tour de Croissant 2018 Schedule: More Butter is More Better
Tour de Croissant 2018 is upon us!
How do you like your croissant watts?
Dusted with powdered sugar...
Filled with sweet almonds or chocolate...
Bubbling with cheese and ham...
Or are you a purist, going straight for the flour + butter nexus, no distractions.
This year, we’ll be hitting a few city favorites as well as seeking flaky buttery pockets outside the city limits. Read more about the schedule and routes below, and stay tuned to @fatcakeclub for details of each stage.
Stage 1 Sunday June 10 - MH Bread and Butter (San Anselmo, Marin County)
We’ll head to Marin for our opening stage for a lively Reverse Paradise loop, turning up to San Anselmo on the way back to try MH Bread and Butter’s offering before rolling back to the city.
Stage 2 Thursday June 14 - Le Marais (Castro, SF)
What SF hills will we earn our pastries on for this stage? No doubt it will involve some Twin Peaks magic before we bomb down into the Castro for Le Marais goodness.
Stage 3 Saturday June 16 - Fournee (Berkeley, East Bay)
The East Bay has climbs to spare! We’ll hit some favorites on Grizzly, Tunnel Road and Skyline before descending into Berkeley to try out our first East Bay bakery ever!
Stage 4 Thursday June 21 - Jane The Bakery (Geary St, SF)
You may have heard that Jane The Bakery was named best croissant in SF this year… We’ll spin out some city climbs and flats before going to see for ourselves.
Stage 5 Sunday June 24 - B Patisserie (California St, SF)
A little piece of Paris in San Francisco? Yes please. We’ll likely take the long way around the city to this gem.
Stage 6 Thursday June 28 - Kahnfections (Mission, SF)
Wiggle from Ocean Beach to the Mission with us to try the tasty treats at this very bike-friendly spot.
Stage 7 Sunday July 1 - Parkside (Stinson Beach, Marin County)
Ride up and over Pantoll and be rewarded with the magnificent pastries from this Stinson Beach sleeper. We’ll team up with the SFCC Sunday Social ride for this one and cruise back along the 1.
Stage 8 Saturday July 7 - Alexander's Patisserie (Mountain View, South Bay)
Epic alert! To properly prep for prime pastry plundering, we’ll head south for a big one, climbing Tunitas before taking those sweet sweet South Bay s-turns to Mountain View with a Caltrain return.
Stage 9 Thursday July 12 - Butter Love (Outer Richmond, SF)
The walls are painted like the wrapper of a stick of butter, enough said. We'll hit our favorite SF hills, spin around Merced and TT up Ocean Beach before turning into this Fat Cake fave.
Stage 10 Sunday July 15 - Neighbor Bakehouse (Dogpatch, SF)
We couldn’t not go to Neighbor Bakehouse, it’s just too damn good. We’ll get there via San Bruno Mountain and Radio Road before celebrating our finale!
